I recently bought a Laguna 14 bx for general purpose use, based on the recommendation of Roland Johnson, the Fine Woodworking machine evaluation editor. And I love it! It is very smooth and the brake is incredible. Checked runout after setup. It was .001/.002, best I have ever seen.
Bought it for smaller jobs but know of someone who uses it for pretty thick resawing.
