The entire top chuck appears to be held on with two bolts on top, and maybe two more underneath. It should be fairly easy to bolt on your replacement parts. The manual has information you can use for setting the table square, adjusting blade tension, and other topics.

There also is a Scrollsaw Special Interest Chapter that at 7 pm on the 3rd Monday of each month; via Zoom right now.

I recently purchased a used Delta 40-650 (looks like a type 1).


The upper chuck looks like it surely needs some work, I can see some broken parts.. This is my first scroll saw and I’m totally lost looking at this thing. I found a complete new chuck assembly online that I’m going to order. Once I have that in hand I’m wondering if there is someone here who is familiar with this particular saw who’d be willing to give me a quick rundown of it.
