September Monthly Meeting:

All About Abrasives
presented by
Nick DeMars,
Klingspor Abrasives

Wednesday, September 18th
7:00 PM
@ Carpenters Union 301 Hall

Nick DeMars will lead our September 18th monthly meeting with information about Abrasives!  Nick represents Klingspor Abrasives and will have product samples and sweet door prize to offer all in attendance.

Nick's presentation will discuss sandpaper and how this simple ‘tool’ can make a huge difference in the finishing of your woodworking projects. We will learn how sandpaper is made, grit options, and how all of this makes a difference when we are ready to add a finish to our work.  And he’ll talk about best practices to use which will help us get the best results possible during our next sanding session.

Invite a friend and join us on Wednesday, September 18th starting at 7:00 PM.

**Once again, we will be opening our doors one hour early to give members a bit more time for socializing before the actual meeting begins. Bring a friend, and appetite, and join us at 6:00 PM for this extra time with fellow woodworkers. (Food items will be available for a donation.)

April 2024
Toys of the
Month

Our Toys for the Month of April are two small keepsake boxes, the Crappie Fish Box and the Escargot Box.  Both have a secret compartment for use in hiding small jewelry or trinkets.

These boxes require a piece of 2x6 and some 1/4" plywood for the top and bottom. Shaped on a bandsaw, the lid is attached on a pivot pin (axle) that also serves as the eye for the characters.

As usual, build 13, keep one, and return the others in a box marked Category 3 and clearly marked on the box.

Pick up your templates from Vince Failla at the monthly meeting in the Carpenters Union 301 Hall. Or contact Vince for more information at 317-408-7511
